Derby Car Check-In
  • What: Check-in your Derby Car for race day.
  • When: Wednesday, March 11, 2020, 7:00 - 8:30pm
  • Where: Christ Congregational Church - basement social hall, 9525 Colesville Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20901
  • Volunteer: As check-in judge, assistant or loan tools - Signup Genius
MUST NOTE: Scouts will LEAVE their car with us after successful check-in. They will get their cars back AFTER the end of races on race day.

HEALTH STEPS: All will be asked to wash hands on arrival and leaving the event. Bleach wipes will be used at setup and hand sanitizer available in multiple location. Please cover coughs and sneezes and stay home if you have Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath. See our homepage for more info on Coronavirus COVID-19.

Avoid the tears! Make sure your car is derby legal! ​
Scouts must check-in their cars before race day and are free to leave after a successful check-in. Pack judges will verify all cars fall within legal weight, size and build requirements. Tools will be available to fix weight, size or build issues. After check-in Scouts cannot touch their cars and will get them back on race day.
To repeat: All cars will be checked-in and KEPT by the Derby Master until races are over on race day.

Volunteers and Hand-Tools Needed! Please Signup Here
  • As Check-in Judges to verify cars are legal weight, size and build.
  • As Assistants to monitor the 'adjustments' table
  • To loan Hand- Tools to help make adjustments.
    (screwdrivers, cordless/hand drills, sandpaper, jigsaw, etc.)

Check-in Schedule
To manage the process, please use the start-times guide for your Scouts below. Check-in is quick for legal cars, but please be patient, there are many more cars than judges, and some cars may need a few rounds of 'legal adjustments'.
  • 7:00 pm - Lions & Tigers
  • 7:30 pm - Wolves & Bears
  • 8:00 pm - Webelos & Arrow of Lights
