Annual Scout Food Drive Collection for Mana Food Center
One of Scouting’s foundational principles is “doing a good turn daily.” Scouting For Food is a national Boy Scout food drive every November. Locally, our food collection goes to Manna Food Center - it's the biggest annual donation they receive!
Despite - and because of - the current pandemic, we are still aiming to engage our neighbors and make a donation to Manna Food Center before Thanksgiving. Prior to COVID-19, one out of three elementary school students qualified for Free and Reduced Meals, and 20% of the county series live below the self-sufficiency standard. A scout is helpful, and this is our opportunity to help our neighbors. Due to COVID precautions, we are going to request a little bit of extra support from parents this year. We are asking each Den to do the following:
Identify at least 2-3 Den parent volunteers for the following roles:
While this is a fast turnaround request, we hope everyone will be excited to still be involved this year and to get their neighbors involved. Manna is still in desperate need of many donations especially with the impact of COVID on many families.
Please email your den leader and cc Jason Patnosh (contact below) with your Den, the volunteers and the requested information ASAP and if you have questions.
